Andy Harwood paints light as if it were a material you could stack. The Australian artist (b. 1983) builds nested hard-edge bands — structured, oddly, around the number nine — that advance and recede as you move, a quiet debt to Albers and Op art. Hand-masked and layered in semi-transparent acrylic, each one seems to breathe. Now in the Museum of Brisbane's collection.
