Cookie policy
Effective July 11, 2026 · ArtMatch, Montréal, Québec, Canada
ArtMatch uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage to make the site work, remember your choices, and measure how the product is used. Marketing cookies load only if you accept them, and never before. This page lists what we store and why, plainly. For the full picture of how we handle personal information, read our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file the site places in your browser to remember something between visits, like whether you are signed in. We also use the browser’s local storage for the same kinds of jobs, such as keeping your cart. This policy covers both.
The essential ones
These make ArtMatch work. They are always on and are never used for advertising.
- Your cookie choice itself, so we don't ask on every visit. Kept for 180 days, then we ask again.
- Your sign-in session, so you stay logged in.
- An anonymous visitor ID, so the quiz and your matches work before you create an account.
- Bot protection on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile), which may set its own cookie while it checks that you're human.
- Short-lived helpers: the link between your quiz reveal and your email (two hours), and your welcome gift code (30 days).
In local storage: your cart, your size unit choice (inches or centimetres), and where you first found us, so we know which of our efforts actually work.
Analytics
We measure how the product is used through our own analytics (PostHog), which runs on a first-party basis and sets a small analytics cookie and browser storage. It tells us things like which pages people visit and where the quiz loses people, so we can improve the product. It is not used for advertising and we do not share it for advertising. We have session recording turned off.
Marketing cookies
When you first visit, we ask. If you accept, tags from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google load and may set their own cookies, which help us measure our ads and reach people who may love what we do. If you decline, they never load. That is the whole difference.
You can change your mind any time by clearing the am_consent cookie in your browser, and we will ask again on your next visit.
Your choices
The banner
Accept or decline when we ask. Declining only affects marketing cookies. Everything else about ArtMatch keeps working.
Your browser
Every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the essential ones may stop parts of ArtMatch from working, like staying signed in or keeping your cart.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change, this page changes with them, along with the effective date at the top. Questions: privacy@tryartmatch.com.
