Pablo Picasso reinvented what a picture could be — more than once. With Braque he shattered the single viewpoint into Cubism, then spent sixty restless years crossing styles and mediums. His late lithographs let him push one image through state after state, chasing the line until it was exactly right. Few artists shaped the twentieth-century eye more completely.
